What to include in a plumbing quote request

Prepare your plumbing quote request with the job details, area, photos and access information to discuss directly with your chosen business.

When contacting a plumbing or heating business directly, taking five minutes to prepare your information saves time and helps the trade give you an accurate initial estimate.

1. Be specific about the symptom: Describe where water is appearing, whether it is a continuous leak or only when an appliance runs, and whether your water pressure has dropped.

2. Share clear photos or short videos: A wide shot showing the entire boiler or bathroom fixture plus a close-up of the affected pipe or valve helps an engineer identify the parts needed.

3. State your location and parking access: Mention your postcode sector (e.g. G12, G42) and any parking restrictions or high-tenement access details.

4. Clarify your timing: Is it an urgent water-off situation or a flexible scheduled repair? Knowing your availability helps trades plan their diary efficiently.
